If your dwellers won’t procreate, you can determine that almost immediately after placing them together in the Living Quarters. The male dweller will run back out, followed by a plodding and pregnant female dweller. After some time, they will kiss and then head to the back room to make a baby (with lots of floating smiley faces and a happiness increase along with it). When you put a male dweller and female dweller together in the Living Quarters, they will generally engage in conversation (demonstrated by hand movement of the dwellers) or dancing. At this point, you will need to increase your population by having male and female dwellers procreate in the Living Quarters. After your initial batch of a dozen or so dwellers, they pretty much stop trickling in from the Wasteland, unless you build a Radio Room to attract them (takes hours for each cycle). ![]() Over the next hour or so, a few more dwellers will arrive at your vault and you may receive some in lunchbox rewards as you complete various objectives. When you create your vault, you begin with seven dwellers. Keep this in mind! You can always move dwellers during an emergency if you want them to assist in a specific room, such as one that is less populated. This will enable your vault to better defend from outside attacks from invaders like raiders, feral ghouls, and deathclaws.ĭO NOT move your dwellers during a vault emergency, because they will return to the room from which you moved them when the emergency is over. Place higher level, better equipped dwellers in rooms at the top of your vault. ![]() If the emergency isn’t contained, it will spread to other rooms in the vault. They will run away when an emergency occurs in that room, leaving the room with that many less dwellers to deal with the emergency.
